SUNDAY
Tonight we went to the Tamaki Brothers Maori Village to get a taste of the traditional Maori culture as it was hundreds of years ago and also get a taste of some yummy food cooked under the ground as they used to do. It was definitely very cool. I was quite a fan of when some of our guys had to get up and learn the Haka, which is a warrior dance the Maoris used to to before battle, but is now used by the NZ rugby team before games. Quite intense and intimidating!! Not quite so much when our American guys did it though, that was just highly entertaining. The food was delicious and we gorged ourselves, as usual. Shannon, Dan, and I all got matching souvenior mugs with the kiwi bird on them! So cute.
